L-R: slimy worm, vicious scorpion and flaming pepper of death

Real men snack on scorpions.

...at least if they're encased in crystalline suckers hand-carried from the mainland. Since living in Hawaii, we've had countless friends fly in for a week, crash on our couch and drink in the sights (and mai tais) before returning home to frozen wastelands. Knowing our fondness food, these friends usually come bearing omiyage of the edible kind.

Our friend from New Mexico brought venemous suckers, loads of dried peppers and jalapeno jam when she dropped in. Sadly, the humidity attacked the suckers and turned them into sticky goo while I was building up the courage to eat one and they ended up in the trash.

This real man will have to wait until the next shipment to eat a scorpion.

There's still time to enter your name in my raffle to win the new cookbook by Iron Chef Morimoto. Do it, you won't regret it!

I've seen those for sale here in Grand Rapids, and never once had an inclination to try one.

I don't think I would care to try those either. Are you really suppose to eat them. Yuck, well I'm sure I'd give it a try; i'd probably love it

Topher, how could you look at that and not be a little bit curious?

Doodoolicious, I doubt I'd love them, but think how baddass you'd sounds if you could nonchalantly mention, "Scorpion? Yeah, I ate one of those once. In a sucker."

Kat, eloquently put.
