A handful of interesting articles and people to note...

→ New Hawaii food blogger: Aiea-based Epicurean Appetite writes primarily about Oahu restaurants at the relaxed pace of a few reviews per month.
→ New Hawaii food blogger: A Sybarite in Paradise also cover restaurants in the Honolulu area, with movie reviews thrown in for variety.
Down to Earth Turns 30. They've carved out a healthy (ha, get it?) niche for themselves in the organic and non-carnivore grocery market. Well worth a few of your food dollars.
10 Hawaiian culinary specialties to sample is clearly targeted at visitors seeking their quick Hawaiian fix before returning to suburbia, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.
→ Two of my worlds intersect, What Gordon Ramsay Can Teach Software Developers. The Scottish chef's kitchen kung fu has lessons that carry over to software architecture.
→ Two years ago today, I shared a recipe for Sopa de Albóndigas; perfect for these rainy days.

→ [Updated 11/2] One last item to mention: Gayot named Chef Mavro one of the top 40 restaurants in the country. I have to agree it's pretty darn good. ʻElua and Nobu Waikiki both received mention as top new restaurants. Hawaii represents!

A hui hou.
