Menu for Hope III: Cookies and Coffee for a Cause

Christmas season is a frenetic whirlwind of activity, capable of running even the most cheerful spirit into the ground. At times like these, we need to take a step back and regain perspective.
Menu for Hope is an annual raffle by food bloggers to raise money for people in need. If you're reading this, you are literate, with access to a computer and internet connection. Budgets may get tight, but we're not faced with starvation because we can't afford to buy food for ourselves and our families. People who receive assistance from the United Nations World Food Programme are.
By buying raffle tickets, you are helping put food in the mouths of brothers and sisters around the globe and earning the chance to win fabulous loot. Tickets are a mere $10 each. For my part, maʻona will be contributing a prize into the raffle pool...
Raffle item #UW14: Rich and addictive Big Island Candies chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies and a pound of 100% Kona coffee (whole bean). Coffee from the Kona region is known as some of the very best in the world, smooth as a baby's bottom (but much better tasting). BIC dipped cookies... well, you'll have to try them for yourself. Put the two together and you have a Hawaiian dessert package guaranteed to create lifelong cravings and a compulsion to come visit. (If you actually do come visit, drop me an email and we'll meet for more coffee--my treat.)
Authentic Kona coffee runs about $25-$30/pound, and the gift box of cookies is easily another $10. For the cost of a single raffle ticket, you have the chance to win it all, and help the fight against poverty and hunger. Not only that, but I'll ship them right to your doorstep, at no cost to you.
As I said, tickets at a mere $10--look me in the eye and tell me you didn't spend more than that on lunch last week. Here's how easy it is to get a chance at that amazing combo above:

- Make a donation, each $10 will give you one raffle ticket toward a prize of your choice. Please specify which prize or prizes you'd like in the 'Personal Message' section in the donation form when confirming your donation. The code for Cookies and Coffee is UW14. Do tell us how many tickets per prize, and please use the prize code -for example, a donation of $50 can be 3 tickets for UW14 and 2 for UW01. Or 5 chances at fabluous UW14!
